Teaching and research at SNU are conducted in 21 Affiliated Research Institutes and 8 Research Facilities, with each offering a broad range of programs of study. Other academic opportunities include co-op learning, in which studies are combined with real-world work experience, and exchange programs, which allow students to spend one or two terms at a foreign university. As a research and education-oriented university, SNU has taken a leading role in a balanced development of community. It is dedicated to selecting, specializing in, and cultivating fields that are of greater priority for the development of society.
